Asus ROG Phone 8: A New Era of Gaming Phones: Price, Features and More

Asus, a name that resonates with gamers worldwide, has unveiled its latest marvel: the ROG Phone 8 series. A unique fusion of power, style, and innovation, these new devices are lighter, thinner, and more durable than their predecessors. A Fresh Look

Asus has redefined the gaming phone aesthetic with the ROG Phone 8. The design is reminiscent of a classic line from Star Wars: this is an elegant smartphone for a more civilized age. Eschewing the cyberpunk aesthetic of its predecessors, the ROG Phone 8 series adopts a more refined look. The back of the phone showcases customizable RGB lights under the ROG logo. The Pro and Pro Edition models also feature a rear display made of programmable mini-LEDs, displaying animations and notifications.

Power in Your Hands

Underneath the stylish exterior lies raw power. The ROG Phone 8 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. To keep the phone cool during intense gaming sessions, Asus implemented its Rapid-Cooling Conductor design. In the Pro Edition, an attachable external fan accessory, the AeroActive Cooler X, further reduces the back cover temperature.

The ROG Phone 8 series comes with different RAM and internal storage options. The base model has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Pro model offers the same RAM but doubles the storage to 512GB. The Pro Edition comes with a whopping 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Display 

The ROG Phone 8 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,400 by 1,080 pixels and a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. The 120Hz adaptive refresh rate can be increased to 165Hz for smoother gaming.

Camera and Other Features

The ROG Phone 8 series boasts of "Pro-level AI cameras," including a 50MP main shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP telephoto lens. Asus claims that the ROG Phone 8 is the world's first IP68-rated gaming phone, offering protection against dust and water immersion.

The ROG Phone 8 has a 5,500mAh battery that can be charged at up to 65W wired or 15W wirelessly. Asus claims that the phone can be fully charged in 39 minutes.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 series, with prices starting at $1,099, will be available for purchase later in the first quarter of the year. With its groundbreaking features and sleek design, the Asus ROG Phone 8 series is poised to redefine the landscape of gaming phones.
